No More Wrinkles
Botox®, Dysport™, and Xeomin®
BOTOX® Cosmetic, Dysport®, and Xeomin® are simple, nonsurgical, physician-administered treatments that can temporarily smooth moderate to severe frown lines. All three products are neurotoxins and the only treatment of this type approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for the treatment of Glabella frown lines. Additionally Botox is FDA approved for the treatment of crows feet (peri-orbital rhytids). BOTOX® Cosmetic, Dysport®, and Xeomin® are purified proteins produced by the Clostridium botulinum bacterium, which reduces the activity of the muscles that cause facial lines to form over time.
THE INJECTION PROCESS
- Your doctor will administer several tiny injections of BOTOX Cosmetic or Dysport or Xeomin directly into the muscles that cause those moderate to severe facial lines
- Your doctor will determine where to administer the injections by examining your ability to move certain muscles in your face. The location, size, and use of the muscles that create facial lines vary markedly among individuals.
- No anesthesia is required, although you may choose to numb the area with a cold pack or anesthetic cream prior to injecting. Discomfort is usually minimal and brief. You can expect to be in and out of Smoothmed without downtime in 15 minutes. You may see a marked improvement in the moderate to severe facial lines within days. The effects should last between three to four months, depending on the individual.
